Classifications and Awards

Archery Australia has a classification system to help measure your improvement as an archer. The classifications are organised similar to the colours of the target; White, Black, Blue, Red, and Gold.

After achieving these there are Master Bowman and Grand Master Bowman.

Then following this there are three Elite levels: Elite Bronze, Elite Silver, and Elite Gold

White, Black, Blue, Red and gold awards

To achieve these classifications, you must complete three Target Archery Rounds in a calendar year from those listed in Schedule 9A at equal to, or higher than, the required rating levels listed in Schedule 4A.1 and obtained using The Archer's Diary Rating Calculator.

  • These awards can be claimed shooting any round listed in Schedule 9A with a minimum of 72 arrows.

  • To claim these awards the score can be shot in an open tournament, QRE or a shoot organised by a club and listed on the club’s calendar.

  • These awards can only be claimed once for each class and division.

  • Any distance may be shot to claim these awards.

Schedules can be seen in the shooting rules in

https://archery.org.au/constitution-and-shooting-rules/

These awards are earned only once per archer (if an archer changes bow type they don't re-qualify for the classifications). When you achieve each of these classifications you will be awarded with a badge (free of charge for the white/black/blue/red and gold).

There is also an all Gold which can be claimed for six arrows in the Gold (10 and 9 zone) and a Perfect, which can be claimed for six arrows in the 10 ring (this can be earned for different distances, and the club will provide free of charge the first all gold/all 10's badge to each archer, extra badges for all golds/all 10's earned at different distances can be purchased for a small fee).
